Big Four bank Westpac are to sponsor the Australian Mortgage Awards (AMA) for the 12th consecutive year. The AMAs are among the highlights of the year for the mortgage broker industry, with a raft of awards being presented to the best and brightest in the industry.
“2021 marks the 12th year of Westpac’s partnership with the Australian Mortgage Awards and we’re delighted to continue our support,” said Warren Shaw, Head of Third Party Distribution at Westpac.
“Australians value the choice and independence mortgage brokers provide growing to a record 60% of all mortgage applications and this is something we would like to celebrate together at this year’s AMAs.”
It will see a return of the Westpac Australian Broker of the Year award, one of the night’s most prestigious gongs, which was won last year by Mhairi Macleod of Astute Ability Group.
The Australian Mortgage Awards began in 2001 and will celebrate their 20th anniversary this October with a gala evening featuring awards in a host of categories.
They will return to a physical event this year after being held online in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be held at The Star in Sydney and will celebrate the leading brokers, broker organisations, lenders, aggregators and BDMs.
“We are extremely pleased to have Westpac back again as the event partner in 2021,” said Justin Kennedy, Managing Director at Key Media APAC.
“Thanks to the ongoing support of Westpac, the Australian Mortgage Awards is still the pinnacle awards night for the mortgage and finance industry.”
“This year, we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the AMAs, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with an in-person event that will bring the industry together to recognise the outstanding work that brokers, aggregators and lenders have done over the last 12 months.”
