A Tesla engineer has been announced as the new addition to the board at digital neobank Xinja.
Xinja is currently in the process of building its independent 100% digital platform designed for mobile, which also plans to offer deliver paperless home loans after partnering with software firm IRESS.
Thomas Vikstrom has been an engineer for nearly 20 years and is currently a senior engineer at Tesla where he has worked for nine years helping to develop and introduce Tesla products.
His experience also spans years of leading product development and engineering programs at Ford, Noble Metal Processing and SSAB HardTech, Inc.
Vikstrom said, “Banking, like automotive in the past, is an industry ripe for change.
“I’ll be looking beyond what is, and imagining what could be, enabling Xinja to disrupt banking and improve the lives of people and the world in which they live.”
Xinja CEO and co-founder Eric Wilson said Vikstrom’s intellectual discipline and vision will be an outstanding addition to the Xinja Board and his influence will be central for the game-changing start-up.
He added, “Thomas is an adaptive leader who possesses a rare combination of strategic and critical thinking.”
Vikstrom joins Xinja chair Lindley Edwards, and other board directors, including Craig Swanger and new board advisor, Brett King.
