This International Women’s Day, a full service wealth management company is hosting an event intended to facilitate collaboration and encouragement amongst women working in traditionally male dominated fields.
Yellow Brick Road (YBR) Wealth Management is bringing together several sectors of the local and business community for a breakfast at the CYCA Rushcutters Bay this Friday, March 8.
The guest list includes YBR team members, business owners, and women in finance.
“The theme is ‘women in sailing.’ However sailing, like finance, is a historically male dominated field,” explained YBR wealth manager and host Fiona Dimos.
“This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of women in finance, share insights with these great women, as well as support the local community,” she said.
The attendees will hear from an inspiring panel of female sailors, including Zoe Taylor, Lisa Darmanin and Adrienne Cahalan.
A pillar of YBR’s approach to providing wealth management services is meaningful engagement with both its customers and the community at large.
“We’ll never take you for granted,” promises the website.
Dimos hopes to communicate her wholehearted support for women in finance, especially during what is proving to be a challenging time in the industry post royal commission.
The first International Women’s Day was marked in the US on 28 February 1909. However, it wasn’t until 1975 that the UN established an official International Women’s Day, to raise awareness of women’s achievements and ongoing gender equality issues.
