OnDeck has been recognised as Australia’s 2023 Best Place to Work for businesses with less than 100 employees by WRK+, based on the results of an employee survey and in-depth culture audit.

WRK+ CEO Zrinka Lovrencic (pictured above left) congratulated the online small business lender on winning the award.

“This is a testimony to OnDeck’s leadership and dedication to nurturing a strong team through best-of-breed human resources practices,” Lovrencic said. “OnDeck is setting a high standard of care for its people across Australian workplaces.”

Cameron Poolman (pictured above right), CEO of OnDeck Australia, said the company was delighted to nab the WRK+ 2023 Best Place to Work Award.

“As a small business lender, we recognise the importance of cultivating a robust and actively involved team to support our small business clients and broker network,” Poolman said.

“This award is testimony to OnDeck’s view that our people backed by our commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology are our strengths, and the exceptional steps we take to attract, retain, and engage top talent.”

Cherie Habashi, head of people and culture at OnDeck, said earning the title of Australia’s Best Place to Work was deeply rewarding for the entire OnDeck team.

“One of the factors that sets OnDeck’s workplace apart is our authenticity,” Habashi said. “We genuinely care a lot about our staff, and we are very good at aligning our people to our business goals. This has allowed us to successfully give all our employees a shared sense of purpose – even amid a difficult economic climate.”

More than 93% of OnDeck employees took part in the Best Place to Work survey, with impressive results across a number of metrics.

In a statement, OnDeck said that as a lender that is pioneering being a data-led organisation, it regularly conducts mini-pulse surveys as well as its own in-depth annual audit to measure employee satisfaction and engagement.
