Mortgage franchise Yellow Brick Road (YBR) has appointed industry veteran Glenn Gibson as its new general manager, the company announced today.
In his new role, Gibson will be responsible for expanding YBR’s network and building a strong relationship with franchisees. He transfers from AMP Bank, where he helped its broker, direct, and retention channels deliver significant year-on-year growth and market share. Gibson also played a role in establishing the ANZ Mobile Lending franchise.
“Our franchise network is the heart of the YBR brand, and we are committed to having great people driving it. Glenn’s going to be taking on the job, at a time when we have some fantastic technology and products rolling out nationally. It’s an exciting time for him to join us,” YBR executive chairman Mark Bouris said in a statement.
Amidst the government’s increased scrutiny on the industry’s lending practices, Gibson said he will work closely with the YBR Group team on these issues.
“Having been an active participant in the Combined Industry Forum along with both ABA & MFAA committees, I can see there are challenges and opportunities for the broking profession. I’ll be working with the leadership team to ensure we are well-positioned in this environment,” he said.
Gibson will start on 9 April, taking the reins from Andrew Rasby, who leaves YBR at the end of March.
“I think the key to success in this role will be understanding value of the brand to our franchisees, and value of being a broker or adviser in the current market. I’ll focus on cementing our value proposition and making the most of the opportunity that YBR has in the marketplace,” Gibson added.
