Non-bank MKM has announced a new specialist BDM for the Victorian and Tasmanian markets, with experienced industry figure John Kypreos (pictured) joining the company.
Melbourne-based Kypreos was previously in charge at AD Lending and has a long history in the broker channel, having worked in the industry for nearly 20 years.
He spent six years as a BDM at Westpac before going on to found the SME lending section of General Electric Money.
Kypreos has also held roles as principal at First Financial and Crowe Howarth Melbourne alongside AD Lending, giving him an extensive background in dealing with brokers and a deep understanding of their needs.
“The opportunity with MKM is well-aligned with my extensive experience in helping customers while I was a broker, giving me a perspective on what brokers need, to help their customers achieve the financial goals and objectives,” he said.
“I have a passion for the mortgage broking industry and can’t wait to talk to brokers about the MKM proposition.
“I’m very excited to now be working shoulder-to-shoulder with brokers in their businesses at a time when there’s both significant opportunities, as well as immediate challenges ahead.”
He is the second big name to join MKM in recent months after channel veteran Royden D’Vaz came onboard in late November as head of distribution.
The addition of John Kypreos is the first big move of D’Vaz’s time at MKM and backs up his ambition for the lender to become an even bigger player in the non-bank space, both across home lending and commercial.
“Having experienced being a broker himself, and prior roles as a BDM with Westpac and GE Money, John is well placed to help brokers help more customers,” said D’Vaz of Kypreous’ appointment.
