The winners of the MFAA Western Australia State Excellence Awards were crowned in Perth last night.
One of five MFAA state awards being held across the nation, the WA awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of MFAA members in various areas, including customer service, professionalism, ethics, growth, and innovation.
The competition was strong this year, MFAA CEO Anja Pannek said when congratulating all the finalists and winners.
“The phenomenal number of nominations for the MFAA Awards this year made a difficult task for our judges, but showed just how vibrant our industry is,” Pannek said.
“The MFAA Excellence Awards are about celebrating our industry and the amazing work our members do every single day in bringing choice and competition to Australians.”
Eighteen winners were honoured at the WA event, held at the Crown Perth.
Among the winners were Jasmine Bunter of Loan Market Geraldton (pictured above left), who won the Regional Finance Broker Award, while Derry Tanzil (pictured above centre) from Derry & Co won the Residential Finance Broker Award.
Robert Flynn from Vorteil Financial Group won the Young Professional Award (pictured above right) and ubank won the Fintech Lender Award, which is sponsored by Australian Broker.
The MFAA thanked all the event’s sponsors including Key Media’s MPA magazine, as well as ANZ, BOQ, Commonwealth Bank (CBA), Helia, La Trobe Financial, Macquarie Bank, ME Bank, Mortgage Choice, NAB, Prospa, QBE and Teachers Mutual Bank Limited.
All state award winners are entered as finalists in their respective categories at the national awards, which will be held on July 27 at the Crown Melbourne.
The awards, which hold significant prestige and recognition within the mortgage and finance industry, are audited by accounting firm Hall Chadwick, and are judged equally based on excellence and professionalism across all areas of business.
Last week the MFAA hosted the NSW/ACT Excellence Awards in Sydney, while on June 22 the Victorian and Tasmania awards will be held, followed by the South Australia and Northern Territory awards on June 29.
