As the spring selling season approaches, the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has launched a new consumer campaign to encourage prospective homebuyers to consult with mortgage brokers before entering the property market.

The six-week campaign will run through August and September, targeting social and digital platforms popular among homeowners in a bid to connect potential buyers with MFAA-accredited mortgage brokers. Central to the campaign is the MFAA’s updated "Find a Broker" website, which is designed to help consumers easily locate qualified brokers in their area.

According to MFAA CEO Anja Pannek (pictured), early engagement with a broker can help buyers understand the requirements for applying for finance and securing a home loan, ensuring they are well-prepared for their purchase.

“Every Australian who is looking to buy a home should first speak with a mortgage broker. Even if they’re not ready to buy yet, working with their broker to understand what is required to apply for finance and secure a home loan will ensure they are prepared throughout the property purchasing journey,” Pannek said.

She also highlighted the association's efforts to promote its members as the leading choice for homebuyers, noting that the MFAA represents Australia’s largest network of accredited mortgage and finance brokers.

MFAA members can participate in the campaign by using provided marketing materials alongside their own efforts, reinforcing their status as trusted professionals within the industry. This initiative builds on previous consumer campaigns by the MFAA, including an October 2023 campaign that reached nearly 250,000 Australians and generated over 1.4 million impressions.

“Our broker members meet the highest professional standards in the industry. We believe this campaign will strengthen the visibility and promoting the strong reputation of our broker members, providing a significant boost in connecting them with clients actively seeking trustworthy and skilled professionals,” Pannek said.
