The
MFAA has welcomed two new appointments to its board of directors.
Award winning broker Melissa Gielnik, director of Melbourne-based brokerage Smart Lending and Murray Cowan, founder and managing director of leading mortgage manager Better Mortgage Management have both been appointed to the board following a vote by MFAA members.
Speaking of the new board appointments, the MFAA’s new chairman, Cynthia Grisbrook told
Australian Broker that the announcement completes the two year transition to a fully elected MFAA board.
“Murray and Melissa join current elected directors myself, Tim Donahoo and Donna Beazley and appointed directors Michael Cottier and Malcolm Watkins.
“I am also pleased to advise that Michael Cottier was elected Deputy Chairman. Michael brings a wealth of Board experience and provides deep accounting expertise to the Board.”
Grisbrook said the board is also in the process of finalising its strategic plan for 2016.
“The Board has a diversity of industry experience as well as specific expertise in IT, audit, accounting legal and compliance to progress the purpose of the MFAA at an accelerated pace. To this end the Board is in the process of finalising approval for a range of initiatives to commence from early 2016,” she told
Australian Broker.
“The Board looks forward to a dynamic and exciting future for members and the mortgage and finance industry over the coming year.”
