LMG’s Best Interest Mates community has successfully raised $39,000 for Movember, marking a significant contribution to men’s health awareness.
A year of impact and engagement
Celebrating its first anniversary, the Best Interest Mates initiative has seen remarkable engagement from the broker community.
Community president Leigh Tsoumerkas (pictured above) shared his enthusiasm about the initiative’s success.
“November is a key focus as we support Movember, but it’s really inspiring to see Best Interest Mates bringing brokers together all year round,” Tsoumerkas said.
Best Interest Mates encourages brokers to engage in various activities such as morning runs, bike rides, or casual coffee meet-ups.
These gatherings serve not just for business networking but also for personal support, fostering a culture where members can discuss both professional challenges and personal well-being without judgment.
The initiative places a strong emphasis on mental health, especially during the stressful holiday season.
“We’re breaking down the stigma of mental health with communities like Best Interest Mates providing a forum where men can open up to their peers without fear of judgement,” Tsoumerkas said.
This Movember, the community launched a podcast aimed at promoting open conversations about mental health in the industry.
Best Interest Mates goes international
The initiative has recently expanded internationally, with Loan Market’s New Zealand network starting its own chapter.
Leaders Nicole Ferguson and Bruce Patten have played pivotal roles in nurturing the community in New Zealand, echoing the success seen in Australia.
