A non-bank lender has created a role within its organisation to further support the broker channel.

Liberty welcomed Sof Tsialtas to the new position of national sales manager, building on the group’s already substantial sales capability.

Tsialtas has over 33 years of industry experience, having spent the last 12 with Liberty; most recently, he acted as Liberty’s state sales manager for Victoria and Tasmania.

Liberty group sales manager John Mohnacheff has warmly welcomed Tsialtas to his new role, expressing excitement over working closely together and confidence he will help lead the group into a new phase of sales support and growth.

“Sof has deep knowledge and experience working with business partners and will help to expand our broker sales and support capabilities at a time when customers need the help of the broking industry more than ever before,” Mohnacheff said.

“Liberty’s special business model allows us to better understand an application and find creative solutions to complex scenarios. And, with the largest BDM team of any non-bank lender in Australia and direct access to our underwriters, brokers can rest assured that we’re always available to help.”

According to Mohnacheff, Tsialtas’ appointment makes it clear Liberty is listening to and acting on the needs of its business partners.

“It’s been a tough year, but we’ve continued our commitment to the broker channel, remained open for business, grown our team and expanded our product lines to help brokers assist even more customers,” he said.

As Tsialtas sees it, the Liberty sales team has “never been so well resourced or dedicated".

“Brokers have told us that our personalised approach is what sets us apart. So we’re making sure we’re even more accessible to help achieve great customer outcomes, diversify broker skills and support better broker businesses along the way,” Tsialtas said.

“We’re super focused on supporting brokers as they grow and help more customers in different ways.”

Kevin Arkell will succeed Tsialtas as state sales manager for VIC/TAS; he has been with the Liberty Group of companies for 10 years.
