A fintech business lender has announced the appointment of the new managing director of Australia and New Zealand.
Spotcap looks forward to benefitting from Simon Keast’s 20 years of financial services experience.
"Simon has an in-depth understanding of the local lending market and a clear passion for supporting businesses. We are confident he can continue to establish Spotcap as a trusted, leading player in business lending in Australia and New Zealand,” said Jens Woloszczak, founder and CEO of Spotcap.
Keast’s previous roles include head of small business designs and solutions at Macquarie Group, customer operations and improvement senior manager at IAG, and most recently independent consultancy work for major financial services companies.
The newly appointed MD said, "I’ve worked with small businesses throughout my career and know how driven they are. They see possibilities and work to make them happen. They have a vision, they’re just missing the finance and often don’t have assets to secure a loan. I’m excited to join a growing company which is empowering them with simple, swift unsecured finance.”
Spotcap currently operates in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, the UK, Australia and New Zealand as a lender to SMEs.
The company grew its Australian and New Zealand loan book by more than 80% between 2017 and 2018.
The lender is currently helping banks to digitalise and automate lending, and is capable of originating, underwriting, fulfilling, collecting and administering finance.
Keast is to join the Spotcap team on 1 April 2019, and will be responsible for strategic operations in both Australia and New Zealand.
