Teachers Mutual Bank has announced two new hires to help them deepen their culture and their offering to the broker channel and customers.
At the top of the bank, a new Chief Operations Officer will take over, with Erica Pickford joining from Genworth Australia. She was previously with CBA and will bring a new focus on tech and automation to the customer-owned bank.
“My corporate purpose is to build a team culture that allows for collaborative growth, whereby our people feel like they are a part of a team and can contribute to the organisation’s vision,” said Pickford.
“I am passionate about driving productivity and creating an environment that is true to its core values. I’m excited by the opportunities in my new role to drive automation in order to improve operational effectiveness and deliver on Teachers Mutual Bank Limited’s digital-first strategy.”
Vicki Leaver will take over a Chief People and Culture Officer, helping to shape how the customer-owned bank crafts its values and standards. She has previously been with other customer-shaped organisations such as Employers Mutual, NSW Health and Legal Aid NSW, as well as sitting as a nonexecutive director at the Parramatta Eels.
“As the Chief People and Culture Officer, I am responsible for driving the organisation’s culture and ensuring that the Bank continues to deliver exceptional member experience through exceptional staff experience,” said Vicki Leaver.
“Stepping in to this role, I am delighted by the opportunity to utilise my years of experience in improving business and people outcomes to further enhance the great culture of Teachers Mutual Bank Limited.”
“At Teachers Mutual Bank Limited, we are proud to be a company that has a reputation for caring for its people. Culture is a key part of this. We have strong values that are practiced throughout the organisation and in our recent staff survey, 93% of our people confirmed that these values align with their own values. Further, 84% of staff would recommend Teachers Mutual Bank Limited as a place to work. I think that says a lot about the importance of our culture.”
