The Finance Brokers Association of Australia (
FBAA) has announced it will host a business coaching summit in Brisbane in the hopes to roll the event out nationwide.
Held in the Broncos Leagues Club in Red Hill this Friday (28 July), the summit will feature specialist business coach David Bayne of 7 Colored Doors.
“We believe there’s a greater need for business coaching and mentoring for brokers,” said FBAA executive director Peter White. “We want to give them an opportunity to come together to listen to David Bayne on how to generate leads, close deals and increase their income.”
Christine Green, FBAA Queensland state president, said that with the spotlight on ASIC and the banks, the event will provide focus on what brokers are doing as well as offering them additional skills and strengths.
“The most successful entrepreneurs and the smartest brains in the world have all had a mentor, everybody needs one,” Green said. “We’re not doing this because we think it works, it does work.”
Bayne has been working as a business coach for 15 years and has studied with wealthy business entrepreneurs internationally.
“I found there were a set of seven fundamentals that if followed in a sequential order, could ensure financial success for any business,” he said.
Bayne has owned and operated over a dozen businesses including a partnership in a mortgage brokerage. He has also bought and sold more than 25 investment properties over a 30 year period.
“I have failed more often than not, but from that learning success comes.”
As well as coaching from Bayne, the summit will also include analysis from the FBAA executive director on current regulatory movements impacting brokers and lenders with a focus on the ASIC remuneration review.
