Kaplan Professional has emerged as the successful bidder from a highly competitive tender to deliver the DomaCom national accreditation program. This appointment forms part of DomaCom’s final preparation for the launch of its property ‘asset-allocation’ solution.
In announcing the decision to award the mandate to Kaplan Professional, Kevin Conlon, DomaCom head of professional development, endorsed Kaplan’s market leadership in financial services industry education.
Kaplan general manager, Brian Knight, says he welcomes the opportunity to engage with the rapidly growing SMSF and equity release sectors.
“Kaplan is well placed to deliver a meaningful professional development outcome for brokers and advisers seeking to extend their client reach into these emerging markets,” says Knight. “We are excited about this partnership with DomaCom because our values in raising professional standards clearly align.”
“The products intended to be offered by DomaCom draw the natural synergy between investors and vendors in the SMSF and Equity Release markets together in a single platform,” says Conlon, who adds that the concept of Fractionalised Property Investment (FPI) enables property owners to offer investors a fractional interest in their property, rather than selling the whole property to those investors.
The mutual benefit is that the property owners can release cash from an otherwise illiquid and indivisible asset and property investors can both scale their investment to meet their particular asset allocation objectives and diversify their risk through an individually selected property portfolio.
DomaCom intends that this market activity be conducted within a regulatory framework.
