PLAN Australia’s inaugural digital PD day has been a success with brokers, the aggregator has said, proving the digital format is the way forward.
The digital PD day, held at the end of February, attracted over 800 broker attendees. It included six live sessions for brokers to stream from their offices, on the road or via mobile devices. Brokers were also able to submit questions to the presenters live on the day.
Paul Lambess, broker at CVG Finance in Newcastle, is one broker who took part in the PD day who otherwise would have been unable to attend in person.
“Being a broker in 2016 has its challenges. We are forever short on time but know that to deliver the best service we can for our clients, professional development is an important investment.
“The digital PD day offered us an impressive solution – we were able to watch the PD Day together – lenders and brokers in a conference room, whilst dipping in and out depending on our schedules. I was even able to stream into one session later on when I had to catch a train to a meeting.”
PLAN Australia CEO Phil Quin-Conroy going digital also enabled brokers to include their support staff in the training.
“With hundreds of brokers tuned in across the country, from cities and regional areas alike, brokers and lenders told us that they found the format accessible and convenient,” Quin-Conroy said.
“Many brokers also told us that they were delighted to involve their support staff in professional development, which previously wasn’t always possible.”
However, Quin-Conroy said the aggregator will continued to run its face-to-face events alongside more digital events.
