Aussie Oxenford mortgage broker Adam Hall, will join 15 other walkers to complete a gruelling five-day, 110 kilometre trek across some of the most rugged terrain in the Northern Territory, in support of OzHarvest.

OzHarvest collects quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivers it directly to more than 1,000 charities supporting people in need across the country. It was founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn, who will join Hall and the other trekkers.

The group will walk along some of the most spectacular sections of the Larapinta Trail and the trek includes climbing Mount Sonder, one of the Northern Territory’s highest peaks.

The trail is said to be one of the country’s most challenging, as it involves up to seven hours walking each day over rugged terrain with some steep ascents and descents.

According to the firm, Hall has been training daily for the past few months, often with a heavy backpack to acclimatise to the conditions he will encounter. “One thing I have discovered during my training and fundraising is the power of community and the enthusiasm of people to support each other, especially those in need,” Hall said.

The mortgage broker originally planned to raise, $4,000 but was so encouraged by the support to date he has increased his target to $5,000. “One thing I have discovered during my training and fundraising is the power of community and the enthusiasm of people to support each other, especially those in need,” he said.
