Lendi Group, the Australian fintech home loans company behind Aussie and Lendi brands, recently hosted a gathering of more than 900 brokers and industry leaders at its Thrive 25 broker conference in Sydney.

Rocket Mortgage executives shared insights on mortgage broking changes at the event, where Lendi Group also unveiled expansion plans for Aussie Home Loans, aiming to create a “fully integrated property ecosystem.”

Digital transformation spotlight: Rocket Mortgage’s evolution

During a fireside chat, Alexander Hamilton (pictured right), senior director of software engineering, and Anna Lu (pictured center), product manager at Rocket Mortgage, discussed their company’s journey from a digital lender to a comprehensive property ecosystem.

This transformation offers a roadmap for Lendi Group as it aims to expand its services beyond traditional mortgage broking to a holistic property ecosystem that assists Australians in finding, buying, and owning property.

Integrating property search and financing: A new approach

Lu highlighted a strategic shift in customer engagement.

“Bringing home search and mortgage together changed perspectives on how we view our funnel,” she said.

“Traditionally, a mortgage application was the start of the funnel. Now, with tools like home search and our market report, we’re engaging customers much earlier and keeping them with us longer. It creates a much stickier experience.”

This integration has reshaped the customer journey, significantly enhancing engagement and retention.

AI-driven customer interactions

The discussion also covered the role of artificial intelligence in fostering deeper connections between customers and brokers.

Hamilton discussed Rocket’s AI-driven conversational product, which efficiently assesses customer needs before connecting them with a broker.

“That extra layer of personalisation shows customers we understand their preferences,” he said. “And it works—the product delivers three times the conversion rate compared to phone-first engagement.”

International collaboration and inspiration

David Hyman (pictured left), CEO of Lendi Group, reflected on the impact of international exchanges, including visits to Rocket Mortgage and CoreLogic in the US.

“How can we take inspiration from what Rocket is doing and apply it here in Australia?” Hyman said.

Global industry perspectives: Expanding horizons

Following the conference, Lendi Group’s co-founders continued their international engagements, discussing similar themes with top brokers in Canada.

These global interactions are crucial in shaping a unified vision for the future of mortgage broking, keeping industry players aligned and inspired by collective progress and opportunities.
