Sucasa, an AI-driven mortgage lender, has announced the appointments of Paul Coloe as head of credit and underwriting and David Ewens as head of distribution.

Coloe (pictured right) brings more than three decades of experience in lender’s mortgage insurance (LMI) and low deposit mortgage underwriting to his new role at Sucasa.

His background includes a 10-year tenure as head of underwriting at QBE’s LMI.

“LMI has been a valuable support to getting Australians into homes,” Coloe said. “That said, Sucasa’s value proposition and focus on quality underwriting is a needed reprieve for quality borrowers facing a growing set of challenges in securing a home loan.”

He aims to leverage this experience to identify and support high-quality, low-deposit borrowers effectively.

Ewens (pictured left), with two decades of experience working with brokers, will focus on expanding Sucasa’s broker network. His role involves cultivating lasting partnerships with brokers and aggregators, ultimately enabling more Australians to achieve homeownership more swiftly.

“Sucasa recognises the important role brokers play in the Australian mortgage industry, and we’re excited to prove our value proposition to them,” Ewens said.

Launch of a new broker portal

In tandem with these strategic hires, Sucasa is launching a broker portal designed to support its expansion into the broker channel.

This platform is set to streamline the mortgage application process, making it easier for brokers to offer Sucasa’s competitive low-deposit mortgages to their clients.

The portal reflects Sucasa’s commitment to harnessing technology to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

Sucasa’s vision for future growth

These developments are part of Sucasa’s broader mission to provide cost-effective home financing solutions that empower Australians.

Supported by global venture capital and leading Australian residential mortgage funders, Sucasa aims to reduce the barriers to homeownership, especially for first-time buyers and young families.

Mario Emmanuel (pictured centre), co-founder and CEO of Sucasa, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions to the team and the launch of the broker portal.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paul and David to the team as we build a best-in-class broker offering,” Emmanuel said.
