PEXA, in partnership with Homes for Homes, has contributed to a $300,000 grant to support social and community housing projects in South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.
This initiative marks the first time Homes for Homes has granted funds in SA.
“We’re excited to extend our funding into South Australia for the first time and support the creation of a new social and affordable housing project,” said Steven Persson (pictured above), CEO of Homes for Homes.

Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn received $200,000 to develop transitional housing for individuals facing homelessness, children transitioning out of foster care, and those needing disability respite.
Additionally, Common Equity Housing South Australia was awarded $100,000 to build five two-bedroom units for low-income elderly singles and couples, allowing them to age in place.
“Homes for Homes is a whole-of-community approach to one of the most critical social issues we face as a country,” Persson said.
Since its inception, Homes for Homes has granted over $2 million to 22 projects across Australia, providing housing for more than 300 people, including survivors of domestic violence and those experiencing homelessness.
The organisation continues to drive community and government support during Homelessness Week 2024, encouraging contributions to address this pressing issue.
“We look forward to continuing our work of providing safe, secure housing for all,” Persson said.
Homes for Homes invites homeowners, renters, and property professionals to join the cause by donating 0.1% of a property’s sale price or rent to fund future social housing projects.
