The NAB team in Wollongong has transitioned to a new $1.3 million facility, located just 150 meters from their old premises, but with a significant upgrade in both design and technology.

The newly opened branch preserves the heritage of the Langs Corner building, situated at the prime address of 101 Crown St.

“This is really cool having a brand-new branch for Wollongong,” said Tony Story, NAB retail executive for NSW and Wollongong local. “It’s a slick modern design with all the things like modern meeting spaces and digital tools that you’d expect for a bustling city like Wollongong.”

Investing in Wollongong’s future

With a vision to support the growing economy and population in Wollongong, NAB’s investment aims to enhance the local banking experience.

“The economy here in Wollongong is going from strength to strength, and it’s increasingly a more popular place to live, so we’re thrilled to invest in upgrading the banking facilities here,” Story said.

Modern banking for a modern city

Home to nine personal bankers, the new branch features an array of features designed to meet the diverse needs of its customers.

It includes an open plan teller service area, meeting rooms equipped with video conferencing technology, self-service machines in a 24/7 accessible lobby, and a digital banking space dedicated to educating customers on maximizing internet banking.

NAB’s roots in Wollongong stretch back to 1859.

The opening of the new branch is part of a broader initiative, with NAB investing more than $18 million in refurbishing branches across regional NSW over the past 24 months, including in Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Dubbo, Inverell, Narrabri, Orange, Parkes, and Tamworth.
