Aussie team members and mortgage brokers have been busy this Christmas season, marking 21 years of caring for people in need over the holidays.
This year, they have prepared over 300 food hampers, donated money and provided over one tonne of premium leg hams to OzHarvest and the charities it supplies, helping to feed thousands of Australians.
Aussie CEO James Symond donated an additional 5,000 meals on behalf of Aussie’s industry and business partners, for the fourth consecutive year.
“Donations of food at this special time of the year is important for both the recipients and our team who participate in giving back with care and compassion,” Symond said.
“By rallying together in support of OzHarvest and getting behind their mission to nourish Australians, we are playing our part to give people a chance to enjoy a festive meal this year.
“We’re really proud to be celebrating 21 years of supporting Australians through food donations, after starting in 1998 with the Exodus Foundation’s Christmas Day lunch in Sydney.”
OzHarvest is a food rescue organisation which collects over 180 tonnes of quality excess food from food donors across the country each week, and delivers to more than 1,300 charities – providing assistance to vulnerable men, women and children throughout Australia.
OzHarvest founder and CEO Ronni Kahn said, “We appreciate the ongoing support of Aussie at this special time of year to help ensure those in need receive the joy of Christmas.”
