A major mortgage franchise has broken records for monthly customer enquiries on the back of its national advertising campaign aimed at directing consumers to brokers.
Aussie Home Loans generated over 15,000 customer enquiries for its brokers in February and almost 16,000 in March – an increase of 7% on its previous record set in October 2014.
Aussie chief executive, James Symond says the record breaking streak is thanks to the success of its national Smart to Ask campaign launched in January. The campaign targets the almost 50% of Australians who don’t use a mortgage broker, urging them to get a “free” and “expert” second opinion from a broker on their home loan.
“The unprecedented low interest rate environment has certainly played a part in these results, but the success of Aussie’s extensive marketing programs and, in particular, the launch of our Second Opinion campaign, contributes strongly to this demand. Consumers are responding with their feet and their fingers by visiting our stores, calling in and going to our website,” he said.
Symond said the franchise will also continue to focus on its recruitment drive.
“We don’t plan to take our foot off the gas any time soon, so we are continuing our focus on recruiting quality mobile brokers and franchisees. This is the most competitive mortgage market I’ve seen in 23 years, but that is also what makes it so exciting, and we want motivated brokers up for the challenge to join our thriving team.”
