Celebrating effective social partnerships

By Mina Martin

ANZ and the Partnership Brokers Association (PBA) have launched the inaugural ANZ-PBA Partnering Award to celebrate partnerships demonstrating collaboration between organizations to address social or environmental issues.

The winning partnership will receive professional development opportunities with PBA valued up to $6,000 (incl. GST).

Importance of partnerships

“I love seeing firsthand what good partnerships can do,” said Janet Liu, ANZ’s head of social impact and community partnerships.

“For example, our financial education programs help lower-income families’ budget and plan for the future, allowing them to do things we take for granted; like paying for school excursions or buying an additional set of school uniforms for their children.”

Applications now open

Applications for the ANZ-PBA Partnering Award are now open and will close on Aug. 16.

The winner will be announced by the end of October.

“Partnerships are important to me because they bring together expertise and resources to tackle complex challenges more effectively,” Liu said.

“For me, this award means that we can help improve the understanding of good partnering practices to ultimately deliver long-term benefits for the Australian community.”

ANZ-PBA Award criteria and eligibility

The ANZ-PBA Award aims to raise the profile of good cross-sector partnering practice in Australia and increase understanding of the skills and processes required to effectively manage impactful cross-sector partnerships.

Eligible partnerships must involve at least two organizations from different sectors, such as government, for-purpose/not-for-profit, private sector/for-profit, and education/research.

Each partner must be a legal entity and address a social or environmental issue.
