A non-major lender has touted brokers in its first consumer TV ad campaign for mortgages.
Macquarie has debuted its new television ad campaign, slated to run for seven weeks, advertising its mortgage offering. The ad points consumers to the third-party channel, urging them to talk to their mortgage broker. Macquarie head of mortgages product James Casey said the decision to spotlight brokers was strategic.
"Central to everything we do are our mortgage brokers and crucially communicating the value they bring to the overall mortgage proposition," Casey said.
Casey said the television campaign, the bank's first consumer facing campaign to raise awareness of its mortgage offering, was partly inspired by feedback from brokers.
"We continually listen to feedback from our mortgage brokers and act upon it. In this case, we were hearing that it would help facilitate discussions with their clients if there was greater awareness of Macquarie mortgages in the marketplace," he said.
