AMP Bank has made a major play in the broker channel by adding Melissa Christy (pictured) as its new head of lending operations and client assist.
Christy, who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, comes over from neobank 86 400, where she had built its mortgage operation from inception to over $1.3 billion in lending.
“I’m really excited to have joined the team at AMP Bank,” Christy told our sister publication MPA. “It’s a great business with a fantastic opportunity to grow, and use technology to strengthen our relationships with brokers, advisers and our customers.”
She joins as AMP embarks on a new proposition for the broker channel, with managing director Sean O’Malley sitting down for an interview with Australian Broker about their most important channel.
“We are delighted to have Melissa join at such an exciting time for AMP Bank, where we have a clear strategy in place and fantastic opportunity to grow,” said Michael Christofides, director of home lending at AMP Bank.
“Strengthening our technology offer for both customers and brokers is a pillar of our strategy and Melissa’s proven technology expertise will be invaluable.
“Melissa will be able to build on the significant progress we’ve already made, with our simplified bank platform architecture and modernised core system delivering ~35% improvement in productivity and a 70% increase in home loan origination.
“Melissa is passionate about making a difference in the mortgage industry, continuing to strengthen the service and support we provide to brokers and financial advisers, and helping our customers with one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.”
