Connective has just completed a national event series aimed at supporting women in mortgage broking.
The inaugural Connective Empower program gave women within the profession the chance to connect and engage with others female brokers to provide help in their career journeys.
The initiative was open to all women whether part of the Connective Group or from outside the network and included business owners, loan writers, administrative staff and marketing professionals.
“The proportion of women making up Connective’s membership is growing year-on-year, and over the past 12 months has increased by almost 10%,” said Jen Dickson, general manager of marketing & events at Connective.
“Women play an important role in the mortgage broking industry, and there is more work to be done to cultivate better gender diversity. Connective Empower was designed to encourage women to unite in their ambitions, step into leadership roles, and work together to inspire and support greater success.”
A number of themes emerged from the women attending the event, she said. Most notably, this included the challenge of balancing work and family commitments and a desire to connect with and learn from likeminded professionals in the industry.
Those who attended also said they would like to see the achievements of strong, successful women celebrated within the broking industry, Dickson added.
“We are always looking at ways to tailor our Connective Learning program to foster better outcomes for our diverse range of brokers. It’s pleasing to see women play an increasing and more prominent role within our industry and we will continue to identify ways to cater for their specific needs within our education and learning program.”
